Hello Roy,

I've been asked to update our company website www.tandemfilms.com so I've set up WAMP to try and test the site locally while I'm making changes.
Your tutorial for the setup was great by the way : )
NOw, I have got the WAMP server running and can see the front page of the site on localhost. But, when I click on any links to other pages, my browser serves up www.tandemfilms.com (the online version of the site) and doesn't jump to the localhost version of the other pages.
I hope there's an easy way to force the links to work locally... Many thanks if you can help.

Well that sucks :( I'm not sure what to do now but that is OK I might just try it out on one site before adding more. If I never had anything other that a simple style.css and htm would that work for that. Well that wouldn't work cause I would need still databases. OK Thanks

Yes you can technically do that but not recommended because server computers on hosted solutions are behind expensive firewalls and will high bandwidth capability like multiple T3 lines. In addition they have redundant data backups...etc. That is just to name a few of the features they have normally.

Unless you have the same environment, I would let the hosting company host your site for you. This tutorial is essential for web developers so they can test their site offline before they go live.

Can this also be to set your computer up so you can just run your sites off your own computer without a server?
